The only thing Joe loved more than his town is his family; his wife Laurie of 16 years, and his three young sons, Joe 14, Isaac 12, and Joshua 10. As a family, they are deeply rooted in the Lincoln School System as well as the Lime Rock Baptist Church.

Their love lives on in the community.

THE JOE TAYLOR STORY

In March of 2011, 43 year old Joe Taylor entered an ER with a symptom of abdominal pain. Five days later he was told that he had esophageal cancer that had spread to his liver, lungs, stomach, and lymph nodes. He lost his battle on June 8, 2011.
Please take a moment to read his story:

The Taylor family contributed a sense of pride and character to our Lincoln community for three generations.   Joe embraced this tradition at an early age by apprenticing his father in restoring many of the stone walls that garnish the winding roads of Lime Rock.   As a teenager, Joe became a volunteer fire fighter, receiving no pay but feeling privileged to help his neighbors in need.  Joe chose a career as a town employee and for twenty five years has labored to preserve the natural and historic beauty of the town as well as setting an outstanding example of consideration and respect for his neighbors, young and old.   Joe’s contributions are visible throughout the town from the artistic restoration of stone walls, the picnic tables he built for the Lincoln Creamery, the perfectly manicured parks and lined athletic fields, to the awesome fifteen foot Totem Pole that stands at the entrance of the Twin River walking path.  Everything that Joe did, he did with all the passion and enthusiasm that he possessed for life and his fellow human beings. Joe was a friend to so many; we feel it is very fitting to call our foundation The Friends of Joe Taylor.

During 2011 funds were raised for Joe and his family. Now Joe's wife, Laurie wants to GIVE BACK to the community via the Love Thy Neighbor Fund. Please know that your generous donation will fund this wothwhile cause.
